Nadal moves into Australian Open third round

The world’s number one tennis player, Rafael Nadal, secured a spot in the third round of the Australian Open with three consecutive wins against Argentine Federico Delbonis.

Rafael Nadal, who is claiming his 20th Grand Slams title, defeated the 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 tennis player ranked 76th in the world rankings, Federico Delbonisin.

Now, in the third round of the Australian Open tournament, Spaniard Nadal will face his compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta, who is ranked 27th in the world.

Meanwhile, Dominic Thiem and Karen Khachanov secured an entertaining five-set victory on the fourth day of the tournament in Melbourne, while Nick Kyrgios took notice of his victory.

Nadal has not won the Australian Open since 2009, but he is coming off the season as the world’s number one tennis player.

While he did not easily win the second set of the match against Delbonis, the Spaniard was able to finish the match earlier, having used only three of the 20 break points.

During the match, Nadal kissed a girl on the cheek and gave her his hair holder after accidentally hitting a ball.

“I was very scared for her – the ball was too fast and went straight to her. She’s a super brave girl,” said Nadal.
