Tennis starts in 2020 from Australia with a new competition, the ATP Cup, which precedes the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open.

Two of the world’s best tennis players, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, have already traveled to Brisbane where this new competition will take place.

The ATP Cup takes place between 24 representative teams divided into 6 groups with matches to be played in 3 Australian cities. There will be 8 teams that will qualify for the round with a straight knockout that will continue with other rounds until the winner is announced. Sydney, Brisbane and Perth are the cities where the group matches will take place, while the final stage will be held in Sydney.

The total financial reward for participants in this tournament will be $ 15 million, while ATP rankings are 750 points for individual tennis players and 250 points for those in the doubles game. The ATP Cup tournament will start on Friday and close January 12, with the absence of Andy Murray and Kei Nishikori missing.

Djokovic and Serbia will make their Brisbane debut on day two, as will Nadal with Spain playing in Perth. Serbia is in Group A of the tournament with France, South Africa and Chile, while Spain have opponents Japan, Georgia and Uruguay.
