Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has said his squad had a hard time attacking Napoli, as Gennaro Gattuso’s side were defended by 11 players in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday in the Champions League.
Dries Mertens scored for Napoli’s lead, but Antoine Griezmann’s second-half goal provided Barcelona with a valuable equalizer in the first leg of the 1/8 final at San Paolo, before returning to Camp Nou after three weeks.
Baca has struggled to create scoring cases and the Croatian midfielder explains why.
“We knew it was going to be a tough match. Napoli closed the game. We made a mistake and they scored,” Rakitic said.
“It is difficult to attack against a team of 11 people. We need to be very confident and well prepared for the return match. I am confident that we will make a great appearance in Barcelona,??” he added.
The return match will take place on March 18 at the Camp Nou.
