LeBron James recorded a “triple-double” with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, helping the Los Angeles Lakers overturn the 19-point deficit at the end of the second quarter to secure a 118:112 victory over the host Chicago Bulls, Tuesday.
Quinn Cook added another 17 points from the bench for Los Angeles, which won it’s sixth consecutive game. Anthony Davis closed the game with 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocks on his return home. The Lakers took the lead in the fourth quarter, scoring 38 points against the Bulls’ 19.
Zach LaVine was the Bulls’ best scorer with 26 points, 50 percent accuracy and also made seven rebounds and seven assists. Otto Porter Jr. and Coby White scored 18 points each, while Wendell Carter Jr. scored, a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Cook scored a three-pointer near the left corner to equalize in the fourth quarter, when the Lakers went on a 16-0 run, sending the score to 96:93 in favor of the Lakers with 8:12 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Celtics 119, Cavaliers 113
Gordon Hayward hit his career record with 39 points for Boston in scoring a Cleveland victory. Hayward proved accurate in all nine shots he attempted in the first half.
Hayward closed the game with 17 of 20 accurate shots from the field and added eight assists and seven rebounds to defeat the Celtics in their fifth consecutive victory.
Hornets 122, Pacers 120
Devonte Graham, trapped in a three-point attempt, proved accurate in two of the three free throws and unlocked the result when we had just 1.7 seconds left in the extra quarter of the game that Charlotte won as a guest in Indiana.
Nuggets 109, Heat 89
Jamal Murray scored 21 points, Will Barton had 15 points and ten rebounds on his return to the starting lineup, helping Denver beat Miami by 20 points.
Jimmy Butler led Miami with 16 points scored. Kelly Olynyk had 13, Kendrick Nunn 1 and Justice Winslow and Meyers Leonard each had ten for the Heat, who finished with three consecutive wins.
Hawks 108, Spurs 100
Trae Young returned from an ankle injury and scored 28 of his 29 points in the second half of the game, which Atlanta won as a guest against San Antonio.
Young was 50 percent accurate on three-pointers and tallied 13 assists. He scored 16 points in the fourth quarter. The Hawks were playing without John Collins, who has been suspended for 25 games for violating NBA rules against drug use.
San Antonio got 22 points from DeMar DeRozan, 17 points from Bryn Forves and 16 points from Patty Mills. Trey Lyles totaled 12 rebounds. The Spurs have lost three of their last four games.
Thunder 102, Magic 94
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 24 points and Chris Paul added another 20 points, helping Oklahoma City score at home to continue dominating Orlando.
