Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso said the Italian club will be equipped with helmets and coats to make them available during the return match of the 1/8 of the Champions League final against Barcelona.
Despite initially taking the lead through a goal scored by Dries Mertens, who equalized Napoli’s record for the best goal scorer in club history, the Serie A team received only a 1:1 draw from Tuesday’s game at San Paolo.
Barca’s French striker Antoine Griezmann equalized in the second half, but the Catalans suffered another blow near the end of the match when Arturo Vidal was sent off for a red card.
And Gattuso says his squad is ready for a battle at Camp Nou on March 18, as the former Italian midfielder believes Napoli are likely to eliminate Barcelona from the Champions League.
“Nothing has come to an end for us when we are playing in the 1/8 of the Champions League final, not even when we play gambling,” the Napoli coach told a news conference after the game.
“We are aware of the difficulties we will have to go through. We will buy helmets and harnesses. We will take all the necessary tools and play the next game. Nothing is over.”
