The cancellation or postponement of the “Tokyo 2020” Olympic Games has never been considered by the organizers of this event despite the great fear of coronavirus in the world today.
Many sporting events have been canceled or changed due to the deadly virus that has affected China, a state close to Japan, that will host the Olympics this summer.
Toshiro Mori, chief of the Tokyo 2020 organizing group, spoke today about the Olympics starting July 25.
“There will be no postponement or suspension of the Olympics. We look forward with optimism, taking all measures to make this event a model and not to panic among athletes or spectators.”
“We are monitoring the situation and are aware of the risk of coronavirus, but we are not afraid. This Olympics should and will take place at any cost.”
